IN ITS 87th season, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will feature a loaded semestral showcase of collegiate sports on a historic scale. This landmark development leads to a record of 21 first semester Blue Eagle teams, which will courageously embark on the rigorous climb to give honor and pride to the Atenean community. Commemorating its 95th year, The GUIDON Sports joins the Ateneo in celebrating its own milestone of 100 years of excellence in organized collegiate sports. With these accomplishments, the publication seeks to remain steadfast in providing the public with inspiring stories of struggle and triumph. Sports transcends the thrilling highs and ruthless lows experienced on the playing field. It entails championing larger-than-life advocacies and serves as an inspiration to Filipinos from all walks of life. Similarly, our publication takes pride in lauding Ateneo student-athletes who cement their legacies in impactful ways outside their respective sporting endeavors. This year’s primer pays homage to our student-athletes and every individual behind their quests for brilliance—their families, coaches, student-managers, and the entire Ateneo faithful. With the privilege of carrying Ateneo sports’ prestigious century-long tale, expect this year’s Blue Eagles to be profoundly driven and motivated in their continuous ascent to excellence.
