Leaving Nothing

by Lyza Mama

AT THE pinnacle of UAAP Badminton, the Ateneo Women’s Badminton Team will not just be aiming for gold once more but is also dead set on continuing the reign of their unquestioned dynasty. For Team Captain and Season 86 Most Valuable Player Mika De Guzman, the team’s perennial triumph can be greatly attributed to their coaches’ guidance, a standout roster, and unified ambition. As the new season dawns, the team aims to safeguard the crown in Katipunan by taking each game one at a time, pushing their limits, and leaving nothing on the court. Injecting new energy into the lineup is the arrival of Palarong Pambansa gold medalist Althea Ocampo, who is more than ready to complement the steady rackets of veterans Missy Cervantes, Angel Valle, and Jochelle Alvarez. With a robust training regimen, a blend of seasoned players, and a promising skillset from a newcomer, Ateneo’s quest for a historic fifth-straight championship is more fortified than ever.
