A Gold Rush

by Lyza Mama

INTENT ON alchemizing silver into gold, the Ateneo Women’s Swimming Team is set to plunge into UAAP waters with anchors of grit and gravitas. With an eventful offseason, the Blue Eagles have wasted no time in refining every stroke and turn for Season 87’s ultimate showdown. Riding the wave of progress from second runner-up in Season 85 to first runner-up in Season 86, the team is determined to build upon their upward surge. With this year’s absence of some key swimmers prompting the team to adjust their course, Team Captain Samantha Coronel assures that they are ready to navigate these changes with resolve. Excitement is also high with the arrival of fresh talent, most notably Season 85 Most Valuable Player Lora Amoguis from the Ateneo High School swimming program, whose experience and prowess are expected to be invaluable. In full stride, this fleet of young tankers plans to harness their caliber and spirit to make waves and reclaim their throne as the queens of collegiate swimming.
