Revamped and Revitilized
by Ravi G. Tan
DETERMINED TO redeem themselves after a rebuilding year, the Ateneo Men’s Track and Field Team (AMTF) steps onto the oval hungrier than ever. Bolstered by a lineup full of fresh faces, the Blue Eagles set their sights on claiming their first medal in the post-pandemic era.
Leading the charge is Team Captain Joaquin Ipapo, who will be vital in fostering the growth of the newest acquisitions. The tenured captain will be joined by sprinter Nash Candelario and UAAP Season 86 finalist Emilio Perez in seeking a podium finish for the team.
As top-caliber high school standouts beef up the roster, the AMTF’s coaching staff hopes to instill a winning culture into the team. Joining the fray are national champions Hassan Loraña, Airex Villanueva, and Carlos Miguel Nacario, along with two-time UAAP Season 86 high school medalist Jose Andro Costelo.
With the combination of renewed vigor and veteran leadership, the AMTF is expected to blaze quicker and leap over greater heights come Season 87.
