Men's Beach Volleyball

Youngblood Revival

by Caitlin Bernal

A BRAND new season for the Ateneo Men’s Beach Volleyball Team is marked by young guns eager to be polished by the grit of the sand and the heat of the sun. Team Captain Amil Pacinio and the Blue Eagles came up short in replicating their breakthrough podium finish from Season 85, falling to the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in the bronze medal match last season. For Season 87, the Ateneo dons a new pair of wings to rattle the competition and reintroduce the Blue and White to the UAAP Beach Volleyball scene. With his valuable experience in the 2022 Beach Volleyball Republic League, freshman open hitter Miguel Yu was handpicked to help bring the team back on track. Joining him is rookie middle blocker Karl Corrigedor, who is enthusiastic to take his defensive ferocity outdoors. Familiar with the grueling nature of beach volleyball, the veteran Pacinio valiantly returns to guide these fresh and talented recruits. Alongside Head Coach Henry Pecaña, the rejuvenated squad is set and primed to revive the spirit of the Blue Eagles.
