Before Studio23 brought UAAP popularity to new heights with revolutionary advertising and sufficient airtime, there were several other networks that had made their own mark on the league.
Late
1980‘s – As the Ateneo-La Salle rivalry was revived, interest in UAAP television coverage started with Channel 13.
1990-1991 – Viva-Vintage covered UAAP games with the likes of Quinito Henson, Chiqui Roa, and Tommy Manotoc as commentators
1991-2000 – Silverstar Sports was given the rights to cover the games, first under RPN 9 then under PTV 4
2000-present – With ABS-CBN winning coverage rights, massive improvements were seen in game coverage. The network introduced the use of crane cameras, school courtside reporters, and high-definition broadcast on Sky Cable
