Three candidates were sanctioned during the Sanggu elections last February 2010. Independent candidates Quico Munoz and Howie Uyking suffered a 25% reduction in ceiling costs for their campaign for violating campaign rules.

All promotional materials are allowed inside the Loyola Schools, provided that they conform to the standards of the Office of Administrative Services and the Department of Student Welfare and Services. Materials are also subject to Comelec approval and should conform to the following specifications:

Posters
– Restricted to 11 by 17 inches in size.
– Only 50 posters are allowed to be released at any time during the campaign.

Teasers
– Restricted to 8.5 by 11 inches in size.
– Teasers with only the name of the party/coalition are not allowed.
– Cloth, illustration board, and plastic materials to be used as teasers are not allowed.

Body Tags
– Restricted to 2 by 2 inches to 4.5 by 4.5 inches in size.
– Sticker paper, buttons, and metal and cloth body tags are not allowed

Banners
– Lamp post banners are restricted to 3 ft. by 7 ft. in size
– Independent candidates and coalitions are restricted to reserving one (1) lamp post only while accredited parties are allowed two (2) lamp posts.

Streamers
– Streamers for grilles are restricted to 6 ft. by 3 ft.
– Coalitions and accredited political parties are restricted to reserving one (1) grille only.

New media
– Text message is allowed
– All messages sent from computers and cell phones must contain election dates and voting stations.
– Online messages containing only the party name are not allowed.

Aside from those mentioned about, the following are not allowed:
– Caps
– Lanyards
– Notebooks
– Bookmarks
– Magnets
– Baller ID’s
– Use of the school’s PA system
