FOLLOWING A redemptive 1-0 victory over the UP Fighting Maroons to open Season 75, the Lady Booters drew against the Far Eastern University (FEU), 0-0, last Sunday, December 9 at the Ocampo Field.

Subsequent to the De La Salle University vs. University of Santo Tomas match before them, the FEU-ADMU match started at an even pace with passes and equal bursts of strength from both teams.

At the 32nd minute mark of the first half, Camille Rodriguez forcefully collided with a Lady Tamaraw. Though it was an elbow to the face, the Philippine Team recruit stood up and played off the pain.

FEU was able to pull off two heart-racing attempts that fortunately went over the crossbar near the 38th minute.

By the end of the first half, the Lady Booters had yet to make any attempts to score. Throughout the game, however, creating opportunities became the Ateneo’s major frustration, as ball possession was predominantly FEU’s.

The second half was marked by numerous collisions and fouls, but the Lady Booters played tough.

FEU, meanwhile, did not let up. They still maintained possession of the ball for majority of the half. At the 77th minute mark, the Tamaraws came close to scoring when goalkeeper and captain Gely Tiu, went too high and a shot from the left wing narrowly missed the right side of the Ateneo goal.

Although the close call shook the Ateneo team, Ateneo continued to fight. The Lady Booters were still on the defensive. Players Ines Achacoso, Maan Cadayona, Kimberlee Jimenez and Camille Dayrit held the line for the team.

At the 83rd minute mark, striker Milka Romero was brought out due to persisting leg cramps and Leah Cruz was brought into the field.

There were moments that the Lady Booters could have almost scored, but unfortunately they were not able finish. The same went for FEU–their attempts were numerous, but they could not finish.

The scoreless draw earned a point for both schools. A win earns three points while a loss earns none.

The Lady Booters will face archrival De La Salle University on Wednesday, December 12, 1:00 PM at the Moro Lorenzo Field.
