Atenean Voice: What issues should the Ateneo administration address this school year?

“Quick access sana sa infirmary. One time, may friend ako na nagkaroon ng epileptic attack. Sobrang tumakbo pa ‘yung ibang tao para lang ma-contact ‘yung medics.”

— Anne Dorcas Domingo (II BS ME)

“I guess [Ateneo] should try to lessen the pileup in the registrar’s office. People who just need to fill up requests, which usually takes around a minute or two, need to wait in line for people who request for other documents which take as long as an hour, causing tons of delay in the system.”

—Christian Dean Ang (III BS CTM)

“More active engagement and dialogue regarding current events and the aftermath of the elections. If the Ateneo is to form us into nationally-rooted men and women for others, I think the work should not be left solely to Sanggu and ATF and other student groups – the administration and faculty should be more visibly involved and opinionated as well.”

—AJ Elicaño, Central Board Representative (II BFA CW)

“I don’t think there’s anything they need to change.”

—Erina Pauline Molina (III BS ES)

“Maybe they should improve the facilities. There are times kasi na may nakikita akong sirang gamit here and there tapos ang tagal nang ‘di pa naaayos.”

—Wilson Kent Ng (V BS CS)

“Deliberate and systematic training of Loyola Schools professionals and non-teaching staff.”

—Christopher F. Castillo, Office of Student Activities Director

“Dapat mayroong covered walkways na connected lahat ng buildings para hindi hassle ‘pag rainy season.”

—Jose Ma. Miguel Marquez (IV AB IS)

“I think one issue would be resource management. The whole country is suffering from shortage in power and water supply. How will the school make use of its resources effectively?”

—Nina Francisco (IV AB Comm)

“Environmental advocacy projects. More concretely, how to make [Ateneo] one of the greenest campuses in the Philippines.”

—Robert Lance Chua, Executive Officer (IV AB MEco)
