LOYOLA GAMING (LG) Terra succumbed, 13-2, to Mapúa University Makati’s (MU-M) MGS Clubs on September 12 at the Esports AcadArena (EAA) University Alliance Cup – Valorant Season 3.

As the two teams battled it out in the map Ascent, the MGS Clubs were off to a strong start, highlighted by MGS QIAN’s triple kill. Although Kenny “LG Nibby” Go came in with an assist to kill off MGS QIAN with a headshot, he was slain by MGS dellyy. The MGS Clubs eventually took the pistol round after defusing LG Terra’s spike.

The MU-M players sustained their win streak until round three but were momentarily interrupted by LG Terra to accomplish their first win of the game in round four, 3-1. Despite this, the Blue and White struggled to gain momentum as the MGS Clubs saw three more consecutive wins in rounds five to seven. Come round eight, LG Terra achieved a three-for-two win, highlighted by Go’s double kill.

However, LG Terra were unable to lessen the gap any further as the MGS Clubs went on to win rounds nine through 14, ultimately claiming their spot as the victors of the 14-round match.

This loss puts LG Terra’s record at 3-2 in the Group Stage standings of the EAA University Alliance Cup – Valorant Season 3. They now rank third overall out of six teams in Group B.

“We had a tough time winning our fights, like, our aim just wasn’t there. Nonetheless, we are still going to the playoffs. GGs to MGS Clubs,” said Go.

They are set to play against the De La Salle University Viridis Arcus for the first round of the Final Stage playoffs.
