It was a tale of two halves as the Loyola Gaming (LG) Terra (2-1) bagged their second win against the Mapúa University Gaming Society (MGS) Spades (1-2), 13-9, in the Esports AcadArena University Alliance Cup Season 2 earlier today.

Falling behind early in the match, 1-5, LG Terra mounted a comeback onto Ken “LG Flex” Uy’s quadruple kill in round seven and Matthew “LG Matteo” Brillantes’ first ace of the match in the following round. After tying the match at 5-5, LG Terra was kept at bay by MGS when the latter reclaimed the lead entering the halftime break, 5-7.

After making the switch to the attackers side, LG Terra unleashed a 6-0 run sparked by a clutch play from Uy in round 15 where he defused the spike after a hotly contested one-on-one. The Blue and White continued to apply pressure through Brillantes’ second ace of the match in round 16. LG Terra eventually finished the game in round 22, 13-9.

During the post-game, LG Terra Team Captain Justin “LG Dippy” Ngkaion was satisfied with his team’s response to a dismal first-half performance. “Overall I think we had a rough start. MGS really played well today and we had to adjust to their playstyle to counter it, and thankfully we got to bring it back and win the game,” he shared.

LG Terra will look to extend their winning ways against the University of San Agustin Golden Eagle Esports on Sunday, March 21, 8:00 PM. Fans can stream the matches on https://www.twitch.tv/acadarenaph or https://www.facebook.com/AcadArenaPH.

Dominic Juan – “LG skwamy”

Matthew Brillantes – “LG Matteo”

Timmy Albert – “LG yabba”

Ken Uy – “LG Flex”

Raphael Santiago – “LG raphitb”
