THE TRACK and field team may be given a reason to celebrate. If everything goes accordingly, a track and field oval may be established within the campus by December this year.

“There are no definite plans yet,” says Em Fernandez of the University Athletics Office. “But it is seriously being considered.”

The tracksters have endured UAAP tournaments by conducting their training outside the campus, specifically in Pasig and Manila. Still, the presence of an actual track oval at their convenience will greatly benefit the team.

Aside from the ease and accessibility it will provide, having a track and field oval will reduce the team’s transportation costs. More importantly, the team can maximize its time for trainings.

“With a track oval in school, the team could be more efficient,” outgoing team captain Zek Valera shares. “Hopefully this could help us win the championship in the years to come.”

Currently, the team is looking for sponsors to fund the project.
