Do you think smoking should be banned on campus? Why/Why not?

“For many of us, smoking is an instant stress reliever and it would look very bad if the students would be smoking along Katipunan outside the gate.”

Adrienne Montelibano (I BS Psy)

“I believe smoking shouldn’t be banned…Keeping the smocket would mean an organized, systematic fashion of smoking areas while banning it entirely would push people further to smoking anywhere they want regardless of the penalty..”

Nina Cabanero  (I BS Hsc)

“No. Smoking is already part of the system, it’s gonna be hard to adjust to that abrupt change.”

Raiza Baldo (II BS ME)

“I don’t think smoking should be banned in campus because it’s a personal choice. Besides, students aren’t the only ones smoking; some of the faculty does as well…I also think people will still find ways to smoke in campus even though they ban it.”

Xavier Francisco Virata (II AB Comm)

“Yup. It’s simply against the law, isn’t it?”

Ray Anthony Roderos (II AB DS)

“In spite of being a smoker, I would have to agree that smoking should be banned on campus because as Ateneans, we must continue to set a good example by complying with the law.”

Alex Ang (III AB Psy)

“No! Tama na yung tinago yung mga smocket.”

Dijo Songco (III AB Comm)

“[Smoking] doesn’t affect me. But if it does, I want to eradicate smoking on campus because it’s bad for the health, especially secondhand smoke.”

Katherine Dee (IV AB IS)

“I don’t think smoking should be banned in campus. As long as people smoke in the designated smoking areas, I do not see how it could harm non-smokers.”

TJ Simeon (IV BS ME)
