THE COMPANY of Ateneo Dancers (CADs) represented the Ateneo de Manila University and finished in fourth place at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 78 Street Dance Competition on Saturday, April 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Blue and White’s marching band themed performance started off with a salute to the Blue Eagle Spelling cheer before transitioning to a high energy, multi-genre dance routine.

The crew from Katipunan was initially slated to perform first, but miscommunication among the organizers led the former to start performing while the broadcast was still on a commercial break. Thus, to make up for the error, the Blue and White were asked to perform last instead.

CADs have declined to comment on the mishap and The GUIDON has not been able to contact the organizers of the competition as of press time.

The University of the Philippines Street Dance Crew took home first place with a strong performance from the start to finish, with no lull moments in between. Meanwhile, De La Salle University and the University of Santo Tomas earned second and third place, respectively.
