Lady Eagles outduel AdU for a shot at Final Four

THE ATENEO Lady Eagles defeated Adamson University 55-41 on Sunday, November 15 at the Blue Eagle Gym, Ateneo de Manila University. They await the loser of the University of Santo Tomas-University of the East match for a shot at the Final Four.

Ther Aseron led the Blue and White with 11 points and five rebounds. Meanwhile, both Danica Jose and Jolina Go contributed 10 points apiece to stave off elimination.

Parang nabuhay ang loob para lumaban (It is like our spirit to fight came alive),” said Hazelle Yam, who herself contributed five points off the bench. “Parang mas lalong lumakas ng loob naming lumaban (It is like our resolve to win grew).”

On the other end, Adamson’s Jonalyn Lacson had a near double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. The Lady Falcons lost despite dominating the boards behind Mirasol Tabanao and Ysabelle Diaz’s 15 and 11 rebounds, respectively.

This win puts the Lady Eagles at 6-8 to end the elimination round standings of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
