THE ATENEO Blue Eagles clinched a Final Four slot as they defeated the University of the Philippines, 74-65 on Wednesday, November 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Kiefer Ravena led the Blue and White with 16 points and five assists. Adrian Wong followed Ravena’s offensive output with 14 points on 5/8 shooting off the bench. Diego Dario and Agustini Amar had 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Fighting Maroons.

Meanwhile, big man Ikeh Chibueze scored a mere six points and four rebounds, but made his presence felt with a plus-minus of +15. Arvin Tolentino also contributed for the Blue and White by going for 2/2 from the three point line en route to eight points.

“It doesn’t really matter who gets all the points, as long as we get the win, that’s what really matters with us. We’re trying to go all the way. That’s our goal,” Wong said of the fact that every Blue Eagle got to score in the game.

This win puts the Blue Eagles at 8-4 in the elimination round standings of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 78.

Their next game will be against rival De La Salle University, 4:00PM, Sunday, November 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.
