Ateneo ends drought against NU with a classic 2OT match

THE ATENEO Blue Eagles defeated the NU Bulldogs in double overtime, 74-70 on Wednesday, September 16 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Kiefer Ravena led the Blue and White in scoring with 21 points and 7 rebounds. It was Chibueze Ikeh who came up big, notching 14 points and 17 rebounds. 14 of those came at the offensive end where he camped out during the second overtime, plucking the balls from the Bulldogs’ grasp. He also won the Player of the Game award.

This win puts the Blue Eagles at 2-1 in the elimination round standings of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Tournament. This is also the first time in Coach Bo Perasol’s handling of the team that they defeated the NU Bulldogs.

Their next game will be against the UE Red Warriors on Saturday, September 19, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
