THE ATENEO Judo Teams built strong momentum heading into the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 88 with a medal-clad outing at the recently concluded 2026 Philippine National Judo Championships. The tournament, hosted by the Philippine Judo Federation (PJF), was held on March 21–22 at the Navotas Convention Center in the City of Navotas.

Donning the Blue and White, the team finished with three golds and four bronze medal placements to cap off their pre-season stints into the UAAP Judo Championships.

Leading the pack, judoka Robynne Alexa Gonzales snagged gold in the Women’s -57kg category. Meanwhile, Ethan Alexander Sarte and Ferdinand Limuel Realda landed at the top of the podium in the Men’s -90kg and +100kg categories, respectively.

Adding onto the medal haul was Janelle Faye Panes, who slotted bronze in the Women’s -52kg category. Rica Escalada and Elyssa Marie Cao also delivered podium finishes of their own, rounding up the podium in the Women’s -57kg and -48kg divisions, respectively.

Completing the Blue Eagles’ medal haul was Aldwyn Ceyen Thor, who secured a third-place finish in the Men’s -81kg category.

All eyes will now be on the UAAP Judo Championships for the Loyola Heights-based squad, which is slated on April 11–12 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
