THE COMPANY of Ateneo Dancers (CADs) obtained a podium finish in the 2026 World of Dance (WOD) Philippines – Collegiate Division. The event was held earlier today, March 29, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in the City of Pasay.
For this competition, CADs prepared a performance that highlighted women’s battle against objectification, featuring an all-female lineup including Ali Mitra, Trisha Lim, Gia Jarin, Max Ilagan, Lana Darang, Sammie Mariñas, Sophia Francisco, Alli Tionquiao, Ariana Jimenez, Olivia Atienza, Stefi Uyboco, and Andie Alvarez.
The CADs ensemble made their entrance accompanied by the song “‘Ornament” ’ by Kiah Victoria, which amplified their focus on the power women have against sexualization. Expounding on the theme and performance of CADs, Head Coach Jesse “Reflex” Gotangco emphasized that “women are not meant to be ornaments.” In line with this comment, the group deviated from their competitors, who focused on street dance.
The six-judge panel scored routines based on performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation, with the Katipunan-based dancers earning 90.33 points for a bronze medal. This attainment qualified CADs for the WOD Summit in Los Angeles in July. Despite earning eligibility, Gotangco stated that the team will most likely not enter the WOD Summit.
Following this performance, CADs aims to continue earning accolades for the Blue and White at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 88 Streetdance Competition, with the schedule and venue yet to be officially announced.
