ICYMI: Ateneo Women’s Track and Field Team stumble to find footing in Day 2

The Ateneo Women’s Track and Field Team struggled in the second day of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 85 Athletics Tournament yesterday, December 1, at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City. 

Starting on the second day, Jasha Tan and Louise Cabrera represented the Blue and White in heats one and two, respectively, in the Women’s 200-meter event. Tan finished at 28th place with a time of 29.54 seconds, while Cabrera followed after 29th place with a time of 31.59 seconds. Both Blue Eagles fell short to qualify for the finals.

Patricia Reyes was the sole representative for the Women’s Javelin Throw event. Reyes finished at 15th overall with an outcome of 23.12 meters. Meanwhile, Viah Mostoles was set to represent the Blue Eagles in the Women’s Triple Jump event, but incurred a did not start mark.

To conclude the second day of the tournament, both Tan and Cabrera also competed in the 4×400 meter mixed relay together with Anton Severino and Mari Sison. The Blue and White finished at sixth place with a time of 4:15.97 seconds.

The Blue Eagles finished the second day at eighth place among eight representative universities and will resume action on December 2, starting at 3:15 PM at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City.
