LOYOLA GAMING (LG) Terra started their AcadArena Alliance Games campaign strong with a best-of-three series sweep versus the Far Eastern University (FEU) Alabang’s Apex Tamaraws–13-7, 13-8. The game was held earlier today at 1:00 PM, following an online tournament format.

Starting off the series on the map Haven, the Blue and White comfortably led for most of the first half with their rock-solid defense and swift retakes whenever the Apex Tamaraws planted the spike. However, during the dying embers of their attacking side, FEU was able to mount a mini-run that cut down the Blue and White’s lead to only two going into the second half, 7-5.

Despite getting rattled, the Katipunan-based team ran rampant after the switching of sides as they came out on a 5-1 run to reach match point, 12-6. After the Tamaraws’ successful B-site retake in Round 19, LG’s Carlos “tinyo” Tinio closed out Haven with a stunning post-plant defense on the agent Sova to ultimately secure LG Terra the win, 13-7.

Riding the high of their momentum from the last map, the boys from Ateneo opened up Ascent on an 8-2 run–spearheaded by LG’s star-duelist Ken “FleX” Uy’s 18 kills in just 10 rounds of action. After disrupting LG Terra’s momentum, the Apex Tamaraws managed to get two rounds back to end the first half, 8-4. This came at no significant cost to LG, as they eventually blew FEU out of the water via a 4-0 round run to reach map point after a successful retake of A-site. LG’s spectacular play was highlighted by Anton “mosesGOD” Rosales’ three frags in Round 18. Ultimately, LG Terra was able to close out Ascent and claim the series win, 13-8.

Despite the sweep, Ken “FleX” Uy believes there is still room for improvement in LG Terra’s next games. “I think everyone did their roles, despite some of us having a bad game. There were a couple of mistakes, but the team still pulled through in the end,” he shared.

LG Terra’s next game will be on June 4 when they play against the winner of the series between Far Eastern University Institute of Technology’s Pendulum and Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats.
