LOYOLA GAMING (LG) survived a late surge from Far Eastern University Manila’s (FEU) Tams FX to win 13-10 last September 5 in Season 3 of the Esports AcadArena (EAA) University Alliance Cup.

Playing the match in the map Split, it was a dominant showing by the Blue and White during the first half as they exploded to a 9-2 round lead. LG Terra were able to get quick kills as the attackers, thus gaining entry into a site and successfully holding it. This flurry of rounds was highlighted by Kenny “LG Nibby” Go clutching a one against two situation in round eight and inflicting a triple kill on TFX in round 11. FEU, however, stopped the bleeding as TFX jude got three kills with the use of his operator to end the half, 9-3.

Those operator kills proved to be an energizer bunny for FEU as they managed to get the first two rounds of the second half. LG were quick to respond with their own 3-0 round run as they were able to make it to match point, 12-5, due to their successful retakes on sites. Although it was already at match point, FEU refused to go down without a fight.

The Tams attempted to mount a comeback by winning 5 straight rounds inspired by a quadruple kill by TFX jude with an operator in round 20. Nonetheless, the Blue and White were able to show their composure in Round 23, as Matthew “LG Matteo” Brilliantes denied FEU any prospect of a comeback by bagging three kills with a spectre to end the game, 13-10.

LG Terra will go head-to-head with Mapúa University Makati’s MGS Clubs next on Sunday, September 12, at 7PM. Fans can stream the matches on https://www.twitch.tv/acadarenaph or https://www.facebook.com/AcadArenaPH.
