DESPITE THEIR valiant efforts, the Loyola Gaming (LG) Terra (0-1) surrendered their season opener to the De La Salle University (DLSU) Viridis Arcus Gaming (1-0), 11-13, in the Esports AcadArena (EAA) University Alliance Cup Season 2 earlier today.

After falling 0-2 at the beginning of the match, the Blue and White countered with a 4-1 run inspired by a pair of triple kills by Dominic “LG skwamy” Juan in rounds three and four and a flawless round seven. However, Viridis Arcus Gaming retaliated with their own 4-1 run, which was highlighted by a perfect round nine with Miguel “VA Guelson” Dy inflicting a triple kill on LG Terra. The first half finished in favor of DLSU, 5-7.

With Team Captain Justin “LG Dippy” Ngkaion rallying his squad during the halftime break, LG Terra opened the second half with a quick 3-0 run to take back the lead, 8-7. After the mini-run, both teams locked horns as they traded rounds until a timely clutch play by DLSU’s Jesus “VA susej” Guiab ended the match. Overall, the Viridis Arcus Gaming’s mastery of the Haven map handed them the win, 11-13.

Despite the loss, Ngkaion remained positive as LG Terra continues to grow from their faults. “We had multiple mistakes such as lacking clear comms, not taking map control, and playing together more which we talked about after the game. As a team, we want to take everything one game at a time and focus on the games ahead and keep our heads up and bounce back,” the skipper voiced.

LG Terra will look to redeem themselves against the Far Eastern University FEU Tamaraws FX on Sunday, March 7, 4:00 PM. Fans can stream the matches on https://www.twitch.tv/acadarenaph or https://www.facebook.com/AcadArenaPH.
