The UAAP Race

At the halfway mark of the UAAP Seniors’ basketball season, The GUIDON basketball expert, Kevin Davis, selects his candidates for the major awards given at the end of the season: MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, and the Mythical Five.

Author’s Note: These rankings are subjective. Though I have tried to be impartial, it is inevitable that certain biases may have affected my judgement on certain players. While statistical achievement has been noted, by no means does it fully determine the final rankings of players (most noticeable in the exclusion of Paul Lee in the MVP race). Team success does have influence in these rankings other intangibles that cannot be captured in statistics have also been a determining factor. The candidates are presented in order.
