THE SANGGUNIAN Central Board (CB) discussed concerns regarding the Ateneo Integrated Student Information System (Aisis) registration during the CB meeting held last September 13.

Loyola Schools students encountered problems during online enlistment for classes early this semester. These included web browser failure and slot allotment concerns.

Enlistment problems encountered by block transferees and students enrolled in the John Gokongwei School of Management’s (JGSOM) National Service Training Program (NSTP) classes were also discussed.

These concerns were addressed during a post-registration meeting attended by representatives from the Ateneo Registration Committee (Regcom), the Registrar’s Office and the Sanggunian Committee on Academic Affairs (CAA).

Senior JGSOM CB Representative Larisse Mondok relayed the outcome of this meeting to the CB.

Post-registration meeting

According to Mondok, Regcom recognized that web browser failure was experienced by students who used multiple tabs when accessing Aisis.

Regcom also said that Safari tends to crash when used for enlistment.

In response to these concerns, the CAA will collaborate with Regcom for the release of future announcements informing students of ideal browsers for online registration.

Similarly, Mondok said problems experienced by transferees were also addressed in the meeting.

Mondok said that transferee students were not able to enlist in some classes as some of the slots were already filled during the pre-enlistment period.

She said that this issue could be addressed with advisement from the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs two weeks before the manual registration. Transferee students may do this since they have an irregular program of study.

She added that the CAA proposed to help by disseminating information to inform transferee students regarding this concern.

With regard to the issue concerning the JGSOM NSTP, Mondok said that JGSOM students weren’t properly informed that they were required to enroll in the class.

Mondok said that that her main concern is that this issue would only be resolved in the first semester of next school year, since the NSTP classes are taken for an entire school year.

Meanwhile, concerns regarding slot allotment weren’t given any concrete solutions due to the lack of details provided in the reports given to the CAA.
