THE ATENEO Golf Team (AGT) flourished in another tournament, bagging 12 top-five finishes at the 2025 Pilipinas College Golf Series Intercollegiate Indoor Golf Championships. The tournament was held yesterday, August 31, at Golf Avenue, in Parqal Mall, Pasay City.

The Blue Eagles stood out in the Women’s Division as Ateneo captured all spots in the top five. With Ateneans Monique Mendoza and Julia Lorenzo earning the same score of 84, the tiebreaker was determined through countback on hole 18, where Mendoza prevailed as champion while Lorenzo was named first-runner up. Following close behind their teammates, Andie Joson and Simi Tinio garnered 92 and 94 points, securing the second and third-runner up spots, respectively. Rounding out this dominant showing, Tati Ong claimed the last spot in the top five with 97 points.

Meanwhile, the Men’s Division I team also overpowered their category, capturing four out of five podium spots. Juan Escano Jr. was crowned champion, tallying a total of 79 points. Christian Romero, who scored 80 points, tied De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s CZ Adrineda. This result led to Romero earning second runner-up via countback on hole 18, conceding the first runner-up title to Adrineda. Glenn Unabia and Anton Asuncion secured the last two spots in the top five with 81 and 83 points, respectively.

On the other hand, the Men’s Division II team also showed out, powering through their category. Gabby Hermosa earned 95 points, securing the first runner-up spot. Finally, Luis Joson and Tyler Zamuco obtained the second and third runner-up with 100 and 102 points, respectively.

With the AGT continuing to bring home stellar performances and pride to the Ateneo, their momentum indicates promising performances in future competitions.
