DEDICATED TO pediatric patients, Kythe-Ateneo held its first benefit concert, MusiKythe: Kamp Jamboree, on February 28 at Bellarmine Field.
Through the concert, Kythe-Ateneo aimed to promote its ChildLife program in a “cozy” atmosphere, highlighting the organization’s culture of warmth and family. Notably, all proceeds from the event will be used to support the Kythe Foundation Inc. (KFI) and Kythe-Ateneo’s initiatives.

With performances from The Ridleys, BGYO, and Janine Teñoso, the fundraising concert raised Php 120,000 worth of ticket sales and donations, which was awarded to KFI.
Melodies of hope
Elaborating on Kythe’s advocacy, MusiKythe Project Head Luis Nicolas stated that the team chose to hold a fundraising concert as they believe that “music creates a universal language of love and acceptance.”
Echoing this, MusiKythe Co-Project Head Naomi Resurreccion expressed her hope for the event to inspire hope and enlighten attendees of Kythe’s vision. “Actions don’t have to be grand for you to impact lives. […] Music and togetherness is sometimes all you need to show your love for the sector,” Resurreccion said.
Moreover, Nicolas and Resurreccion ensured that Kythe’s mission was emphasized through advocacy segments prepared by the KFI staff.
Recognizing the event’s magnitude, Nicolas acknowledged the organizers’ challenge of balancing academic, personal, and project responsibilities. Following this, MusiKythe Sponsorship Head Yashmin Garcia shared that Kythe’s advocacy for the children and the core team’s support for one another helped her persevere through difficulties in preparations.
A community celebration
As a participant of Kythe-Ateneo’s first benefit concert, Malcolm Lee (3 BS BIO) expressed enthusiasm in enjoying the night and the music with his friends, while also directly contributing to Kythe’s advocacy.
“I really feel honored that I’m able to help such a great cause. As a student who wants to enter the medical field, I’m really enticed by their initiatives [and] I’d love to help any way I can,” Lee shared.
Furthermore, MusiKythe Logistics Head Sophia Chua expressed her joy for executing “one of the biggest projects” Kythe has undertaken. She added that the event’s successful execution serves as a tribute to how much the organization values its advocacy for pediatric patients.
“Whether it’s an external fundraiser like this or something as small as [formational] events in Kythe, I’m just so happy to be part of what helps heal the kids because it’s healing me as well,” Chua said. With this, Resurreccion and Nicolas hope that MusiKythe will become an annual flagship event, serving as an avenue for the Ateneo community to acquaint themselves with Kythe’s mission of cultivating positive spaces for hospitalized children.
