“During my first heats and I was looking at my times, I was pretty disappointed. But I think it also humbled me to see where I am right now in the sport as a new player. The fact that we were able to build a team this season out of virtually nothing, I think there’s value there and it’s something that we as a team should really be proud of,” said rookie Severino.
“Going into the relay, we felt very confident ‘cause we trained for it. For most of us this was our first [relay], ‘cause we’re really [400m] runners. But since our coach trusted us, we were able to execute. Without the disqualification, it was overall a good run, so it’s a good experience and we learned a lot from it also,” Restor added.
The events of the Men’s Athletics tournament will continue through Saturday, December 3 and conclude on Sunday, December 4 at the PhilSports Complex in Pasig City.
