FILIPINO OLYMPIAN Juvic Pagunsan concluded round 2 of the Men’s Golf Individual Stroke Play earlier today with a 2-over-par 73 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.

Pagunsan currently stands at T25 as of writing, where he is joined by the following: France’s Romaine Langasque, South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, the US’ Collin Morikawa and Patrick Reed, Great Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood, Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino, Denmark’s Joachim B. Hansen, and Chile’s Joaquín Niemann.

Pagunsan began his front nine with consecutive pars in Holes No. 1 through 4, maintaining his round 1 score of five-under-par with a four-way tie for eighth. However, his consistent performance faltered after a bogey at Hole No. 5. Despite recovering from this stumble with a birdie at Hole No. 6, he yielded yet another bogey at Hole No. 8.

Shortly after the 2021 Mizuno Open winner struck a bogey once more at Hole No. 11, play was disrupted by inclement weather. As the round continued, Pagunsan only managed to make one more birdie at Hole No. 15 and capped off his back nine with a par at Hole No. 18.

This interrupted momentum brought Pagunsan down to T25, 20 ranks below his round 1 seat at joint fifth as he fired a total of two birdies and four bogeys earlier today. Pagunsan’s overall score for the first two rounds of the Olympic golf tournament is 3-under-par 139.

As round 2 was delayed again, play will resume tomorrow at 6:45 AM Manila Time at the Kasumigaseki Country Club for the 16 remaining golfers who have not yet completed their 18 holes. Pagunsan’s official rank for this round will be determined thereafter. Round 3 tee times are estimated to occur between 10:30 AM to 12:18 PM Manila Time.
