LOYOLA GAMING (LG) Terra (3-1) extended their winning streak to three in the AcadArena University Alliance Cup – Valorant Season 2 after a dominant victory against the University of San Agustin (USA) Golden Eagles, 13-2. Their win places them in the second spot of the league standings alongside the De La Salle University Viridis Arcus.
The Blue and White started their impressive gameplay by confusing their opponents with their characters’ unpredictable activity on the map. With this strategy, Ateneo was able to delay the opposing team’s movement, take control of the pacing early in the match, and win nine straight games, 9-0.
In round 10, USA scored their first win after catching LG Terra’s defense off guard. However, the Blue and White immediately bounced back when Timmy “LG yabba” Albert initiated the recovery through his perfectly-timed flanking. Dominic “LG skwamy” Juan salvaged the second half pistol round with his quick thinking and sharp aims to regain momentum for LG Terra, 11-1. LG Terra continued to respond to USA’s aggressive offense with clear communication and attack confidence, which eventually sealed the scoreline in favor of the Blue and White, 13-2. Michael “LG FleX” Uy and Matteo “LG Matteo” Brillantes showcased their brilliance with 18 and 14 kills, respectively.
Uy attributed their quick victory to consistent team practices and the right playing mindset. “I’d say we’ve been working hard recently through scrimmages so that we can be more familiar with our playing style. Our team’s dedication allows us to persevere through our mistakes and improve our skills to win this tournament,” LG Terra’s top player of the match said.
