Rookie SJ Belangel provided the spark for Ateneo at the beginning of the second period, scoring five straight points to kickstart a 12-4 run which widened the gap to 16.

Linking up well on offense, Kouame, Thirdy Ravena, and William Navarro teamed up to score eleven straight points, erecting a huge 21-point lead. An Anton Asistio triple off the glass allowed the Blue Eagles to enter the break with an 18-point margin, 43-25.

Looking to get back in the game, UPHSD answered back with baskets from Peralta and Eze, using a 13-2 run to cut the deficit back to 16 at then end of the third.
