Ateneo launches online Martial Law Museum

The Martial Law Museum was formally launched on September 16 in time for the 45th anniversary of the declaration of martial law by the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos. The museum aims to be an online learning platform that advocates “for human rights, freedom, democracy, and engaged citizenship through factual and engaging storytelling.” As of October, it has produced 25 exhibits, which feature over a hundred consultations by experts from various institutions. The site has three components: ‘Mag-aral,’ which is directed towards students, ‘Magturo,’ which contains lesson plans and learning materials for teachers, and ‘Manindigan,’ which seeks to translate awareness into action.
