The Student Assembly voted to continue Martial Law and ratify the proposed 2017 Constitution after their last session so Sanggunian President Ian Makinon could “enforce safety within the campus,” during a time of radical resistance.

“We want President Makinon to continue with Martial Law. We want him to exercise his powers with more authority. We want him to be strong and firm…and establish an atmosphere of peace and unity in our country,” the Student Assembly representative said.

The Central Assembly also voted to be removed of their legislative duties as the Student Assembly believe that “the President must be backed by a unified Sanggu at this time that cannot be weakened by debates on legislature.”

There has been no reported formal voting procedure with regards to the decision.

Towards the end of the session, Student Assembly members were asked to raise their hands as Makinon asked them if they were already famished.

Amid confusion, the decision was met with support from the Student Assembly. When asked during the session, the representative has previously stated that the assembly approves of the new Constitution.
