TEAM CAPTAIN

Martel Agustin

One of the longest-tenured veterans on the team, international champion Martel Agustin takes the baton in leading the blue judokas to battle.
“I want them to see me as their captain. But more than that, I want them to respect me as a person as well. And me, being the team captain, I have to give back that respect to them.”

RETURNING VETERANS

Nico Clemente

Season 78 Rookie of the Year Nico Clemente is looking to continue his reign as one of the most promising young judokas in the country. He will be looking to perform in the sub-66kg UAAP weight division, where he won a gold medal in last year’s proceedings.

Ralph Sapi

Fourth year player Ralph Sapi will once again bring his experience and skills back on the tatami mat for the blue and white. He will also attempt to improve on his performance last year, where he copped a bronze finish in the sub-66kg weight division.

NEW RECRUITS

Eric Uy

Former Ateneo High School captain Eric Uy will be looking to continue his winning ways in the seniors division. The sub-90kg weight division judoka will be looking to follow up his tally of a gold and a silver in the juniors ranks, with more pieces of silverware for the senior squad as they strive to retain the overall championship.

COACH’S CORNER

Robert Divina

Robert Divina is a former team member and head coach for the Philippine Judo team. This is his eighth year as a mentor for the judokas of Katipunan.
“Malaki ang chance sa college ng lalaki na makuha namin ulit ang overall. Sa babae naman, medyo alanganin kami dahil karamihan dito puro bago, pero gagawin namin ‘yung best. May laban pa rin.”
