ATENEO FAST opened their campaign in search of the three-peat with a medal blowout on the first day of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 79 swimming tournament, claiming the top spot in both the men’s and women’s divisions at the end of the first day’s events. The Blue Eagles climbed to first place with 132 points ahead of De La Salle University (DLSU), who trail with 67, while the Lady Eagles splashed into the spotlight to take the lead, knocking in 113 points to take first place ahead of the University of the Philippines (UP) with 74.

The Blue and Lady Eagles hauled in a total of 16 medals, with the men tallying nine and the women racking in seven across five events for a combined team score of 245 points to tighten FAST’s hold over the college title.
