THE ATENEO Blue Eagles defeated Lyceum of the Philippines University in their fourth game into the Fil Oil Flying V Pre- season Premier Cup 2016. The players from the Blue and White begin a winning streak as they swept the game with a score of 65- 58 on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Fil Oil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

Thirdy Ravena led the Blue and White with 15 points in offensive output and a total of 8 rebounds. Tyler Tio and Aaron Black followed with 10 points and 9 points, respectively.

This victory puts the Blue Eagles in a 3-1 win- loss standing in the Fil Oil Tournament. Their next game will be against the DLSU Green Archers on Sunday, May 29, 2016, 5pm in the Fil Oil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

The Blue Eagles led the game in all 4 quarters having an advantage in offensive output against the opponent, especially before the half time. However, by the start of the third set, the opposing team started to redeem themselves by attempting to bring the score close to a tie.

Maximizing all of the players in the line- up in the game, the Blue Eagles were able to test their team advantage against LPU’s top scorer, harry Nzeusseu.

“We wanted to take a look at some of other players, how they play with more minutes,” says Coach Sandy Arespacochaga. “They’re willing to move and learn and that’s the most important thing.”
