Aaron Black sparks Ateneo past DLSU

THE ATENEO Blue Eagles defeated rival De La Salle University (DLSU), 73-62 on Sunday, November 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Von Pessumal led the Blue and White with 17 points and six rebounds. Kiefer Ravena made up for his subpar 4/15 shooting by scoring 15 points, grabbing five rebounds, and nabbing three assists. Aaron Black was awarded Player of the Game honors after a 13-point spark off the bench.

On the other end, Paolo Rivera earned a near double-double with 16 points and nine rebound. Jeron Teng followed Rivera up with 11 points but fouled out of the game with four crucial minutes left in the game.

This win locks the Blue Eagles in third place with a record of 9-4 in the elimination round standings of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

Their last game of the second round will be against the University of the East, 2PM, Saturday, November 14 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
