Blue Eagles triumph over UE Red Warriors

THE ATENEO Blue Eagles defeated the University of the East Red Warriors,  77-72 , on Saturday, September 19, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Von Pessumal led the Blue and White with 21 points, going 6/10 from 3 point distance. Kiefer Ravena put in an all-around performance as he finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Big men, Alfonzo Gotladera and Chibueze Ikeh, also contributed well with 9 points and 8 rebounds for the former and 8 points and 12 rebounds from the latter.

This win puts the Blue Eagles at 3-1 in the elimination round standings of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Men’s Basketball Tournament. This is also the team’s third consecutive win after losing to the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in their first game.

Their next game will be against the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers on Saturday, September 26, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
