WITH THEIR torrid outside shooting and stellar teamwork in full display, Team Glory Be defeated the Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers-B, 87-60, to win their second consecutive game in the Fr. Martin’s Cup last Saturday, August 15, at the Arellano University gymnasium in Legarda, Manila.

The Blue Eagles dismantled their opponent’s zone defense by shooting the lights out from the field. They converted 50% of their total field goals (33/66), with 12 of those being three-point makes. The team also dished out 23 assists, much to the approval of Head Coach Yuri Escueta.

Cole Micek top-scored for the Blue and White with a season-high 20 points. He shot a stellar six out of 10 from three-point territory while making four in a row during a critical stretch in the second quarter. Backing Micek’s performance were three other players in double figures. Both CJ Perez and Dan Wong scored 14 points apiece while rookie Quinito Banzon scored 12 points of his own.

This win puts the Blue Eagles with an unblemished 2-0 record in the elimination round of this tournament. Their next game will be against San Sebastian College-A at 2PM on August 21, Friday, at the Jacinto Tiu Competition Court in Xavier School, San Juan City.
