Ateneo student hailed Philippine Sudoku Grandmaster
Applied mathematics major in mathematical finance senior Alvin Ian Chan was the victor of the 8thPhilippine Super Sudoku Challenge grand finals. Chan triumphed over 37 other contenders in the Grandmaster Division for college students and professionals. The competition was held in SM City North EDSA’s Skydome on February 1. Kritika Kultura launches two books
Kritika Kultura held a double book launch for the latest works of two of the journal’s associate editors, Mark Anthony Cayanan and Louie Jon Sanchez. The launch was held on February 15 at the Natividad Galang Fajardo Room, De La Costa Hall. Except You Enthrall Me, Cayanan’s second full-length poetry collection, was published by the University of the Philippines Press while Sanchez’s Kung Saan Sa Katawan was published by the University of Santo Tomas Publishing House. Ateneo alumna shares insights from WEF 2014
Ateneo alumna Noreen Bautista (BS CTM ‘10) shared her insights regarding the “Eight Big Ideas” presented during the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2014 in a talk held on February 21 at the John Gokongwei School of Management Room 104. The talk was part of the Brown Bag Knowledge Sharing Series sponsored by the Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship. Bautista is one of the 50 Global Shaper delegates from the WEF meeting entitled “The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business” held at Davos and Klosters, Switzerland on January 22 to 25. The Global Shapers Community is a network of city-based hubs that aims to further develop the leadership potential of 20 to 30-year-olds. Tristan B. Gamalinda
