A ROBBERY incident took place along Katipunan Avenue in front of Gate 3.5 at 12:45 PM on April 30.

In the official report by investigator PO2 Richard Galvez of the Quezon City Police District Quirino Police Station, a gold necklace worth P30, 000 was stolen by an unidentified male suspect.

The victim, cargo van driver Benjamin Torres Jr., was shot in his left leg before the armed suspect fled on foot.

As stated in the report, the victim was driving an L300 van with passenger Lito Lijarso in the front seat.

In the midst of traffic congestion, the suspect approached the van from the center island of the road, pointed a gun at the victim and said, “Akin na kuwintas mo! Tangina mo. Babarilin kita! (Give me your necklace! I will shoot you!)”

Torres refused and kicked the door when the suspect opened it. However, the suspect managed to fire at Torres before grabbing his necklace.

Galvez suspects the assailant used a .38 caliber revolver.

The victim immediately drove to the Capitol Medical Center to receive treatment.

Investigation on the case is still ongoing.
