THE SANGGUNIAN Central Board (CB) drafted a seat for an official CB liaison in its Code of Internal Procedures (CIP), which was ratified during a meeting on April 24.
The amendment to the CIP states that an official CB liaison will be chosen from the CB members and appointed in the event that both the presidential and vice presidential seats are rendered vacant for the year.
As discussed during the CB meeting, a representative for the Sanggunian is needed as it is currently acting without its Top 4, after a school-wide failure of elections last March.
According to CIP Amendment Head CJ Leong, the CB liaison is the spokesperson of the Sanggunian to the school administration and will also act as a signatory for the documents of the student government.
Leong clarified that the liaison will not be governing the CB, which will still remain the highest decision making body of the Sanggunian.
The liaison will only exist in the absence of both the president and the vice president. The position will automatically be terminated if otherwise.
As of press time, the CB has not yet elected a member for the position.
UPDATE: The CB elected senior John Gokongwei School of Management representative Ga-el Mendoza as the official liaison in a meeting on April 25.
