FIFTEEN POSITIONS for this year’s Freshmen and Special Elections were left vacant, according to memorandum no. 201314 released by the Ateneo Commission on Elections (Comelec) today, August 10.

Comelec declared a failure of elections for the School of Humanities (SOH), the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) and the School of Social Sciences (SOSS).

The vacant positions under SOH include the following: Senior Central Board (CB) representative, senior executive officer (EO) and senior interdisciplinary studies course representative.

Under JGSOM, three course representative positions were left unoccupied: Communications technology management course representative, legal management course representative and management course representative.

Meanwhile, SOSS has four positions left empty: Junior CB representative, junior EO, senior CB representative and senior EO.

Additionally, no one was elected as course representative for junior communication majors, senior European studies majors and senior management economics majors.

No block representatives were elected for freshmen block F1 under SOSS and block T3 under JGSOM.

Only the School of Science and Engineering (SOSE) met the required quota of votes for all positions.

Comelec’s memorandum also stated that re-elections will be held for the freshmen block representatives of blocks A1, Q and R2, as the number of votes for their respective candidates were tied.

Details about this special election will be released by the Comelec in another memorandum.
