ASoG launches program for innovative dev’t
The Ateneo School of Government, together with the National Research Council of the Philippines, launched the Universities and Councils Network for Innovations for Inclusive Development. According to the project’s website, the aim of the Innovation for Inclusive Development is to reduce poverty, encourage interclass participation and distribute more equally the benefits of development. Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas Award conferred on IS prof
Rofel G. Brion, PhD of Interdisciplinary Studies Department was awarded the 2012 Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Balagtas by the Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas. The Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Francisco Balagtas is annually given to respected writers in Filipino who have devoted their lives and energy toward Filipino literature and educating others about it. Mathematics professor is Metrobank Awardee
Mathematics Professor Catherine Vistro-Yu, PhD received the Outstanding Teacher Award in the Higher Education category from the Metrobank Foundation. The awarding ceremonies were held on September 5. Vistro-Yu is the third faculty member of her department to receive the honor. The Metrobank Foundation’s Search for Outstanding Teachers was launched in 1984, conducted annually in cooperation with the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education. The foundation aims to recognize teachers who contribute to national development, and through this, inspire other Filipino teachers to achieve excellence in their areas of teaching. Gilliann S. Ebreo
