Ever had the urge to grab a random post and lose yourself? Here are some exciting pole moves you can attempt (at your own risk). In no time, everyone will be in awe of your pole prowess.

1 DREAMGIRL

Very easy

Grip the pole and prop yourself up. Hold the pole with your thighs, keeping your legs at 90° and 45°. Lean back.

Optional: Break into a rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.”

2 CROSS-ANKLE RELEASE

Easy

Illustrated by BJ L. Abesamis

Grip the pole, then raise your legs, crossing your ankles such that your thighs can hold on to the pole. Say a little prayer and let go, ending with your hands above your head.

3 KNEE HOLD

Intermediate

Prop yourself up, then hook one leg around the pole. Hold your other knee against the pole for support. Release your hands as if attempting to fly.

4 JADE

Difficult

Illustrated by BJ L. Abesamis

Prop yourself up, then point your legs vertically on one side of the pole. Once comfortable (if that’s possible), part your legs in an upside-down front-split, gripping the pole with your waist and front leg.
