Covered Courts parking lot

August 15, 2011

Ionne Ocampo parked her car in the parking lot near the Covered Courts. She was with her friend France Sison, and they left their laptops on the car’s floor, as they had to attend the Paglunsad event at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater. When they returned before 6:00 PM, they found the car’s windows smashed and their properties missing. While the car was tinted and fitted with an anti-theft alarm, it seems that no one noticed the robbery—there was no guard roaming around, even though guard shifts supposedly end at 6:00 PM. After reporting the incident, they filed a police report despite the guards’ warnings on the hassles this would bring.

Moro Lorenzo parking area

August 17, 2011

Cito Mendoza parked his car at the Moro Lorenzo Parking Area. When he returned later at 8:00 PM, he noticed that his bag was gone. It contained valuable items such as his wallet, driver’s license and school ID. There was no sign of forced entry—Mendoza was certain he locked the doors and, perhaps, the perpetrator was just skilled in unlocking car doors. The guard on duty, however, did not notice anyone breaking in. Mendoza then filed reports both in the security office and in the office of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
