Ateneans bag top spots in journalism contest for sustainable development

Two Ateneans were awarded in the Holcim Journalism Awards for Sustainable Construction held last December 2010.

For the student category, Joaquin Carlos de Jesus (IV AB DS) won first place with his essay entitled “Utilizing Our Heritage for Modern and Sustainable Construction: A Must” while Alessandra Sophia Guballa (II BS HS) won second place.

According to their website, Holcim Journalism Awards for Sustainable Construction aims to encourage local print journalist and college students to write articles explaining the benefits of sustainable construction.
