THE RUN to secure a playoff spot continued nicely for the Lady Spikers as they battled against the FEU Lady Tamaraws on January 30, at the San Juan Arena.
After slumping through the first round, the ladies in Blue have gone on a 6-0 surge, remaining unbeaten this year, and have slowly been climbing back up the ranks.
Ateneo swept an FEU team in rebuilding mode, 3-0. All three sets were easy victories for the Lady Spikers, who, despite playing sloppy defense, were able to shake things off by maintaining a solid eight-player rotation.
Whenever FEU created small margins, Ateneo would come back and take the lead for good.
Leading the team in points are junior Angeline Gervacio and birthday girl Fille Cainglet, who scored 15 and nine points respectively. Leading the charge for the Lady Tams are Maica Morada, who scored 12 points. Angeline Gervacio was named best player of the game.
The Lady Spikers continue their bid to solidify a playoff berth on Wednesday, February 2 (4PM), at the San Juan Arena
