PHILOSOPHY ASSISTANT Professor Mark Calano won first prize in the Wisdom Stories for the Sustainable Development contest sponsored by the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines.

The conference aimed to give voice to a Philippine philosophy for sustainable development through wisdom stories and to align that philosophy to Asian traditions.

Calano’s story, as well as two other winning entries, was featured in the Conference on Philippine Wisdom Stories for Sustainable Development held at the Social Development Complex Conference Hall on October 26.
