AFTER MONTHS of deliberations, two rejections from the Sanggunian Central Board (CB), and an affirmation from the House of Representatives (HoR), the fate of the College Fair now lies in the hands of the Student Judicial Court (SJC).
Coming on the heels of a consultative vote conducted by the HoR at Leong Hall yesterday, the CB met today at the Aerie Room in the Cervini Cafeteria to finally decide on whether the Sanggunian will support the proposed College Fair.
Thirteen out of 20 of the CB members voted for a ‘yes’ to the fair, which represents 65% of the voting body. However, a 2/3 vote (or around 66.7%) is required for the project to get Sanggunian support. Immediately after the results were clear, a caucus was called for discussion on how the body will define 2/3.
It was decided that the SJC will resolve the matter. As of press time, the CB has not been able to communicate with the SJC.
The complete and unofficial results of the voting are as follows:
(names in bold voted “YES”)
Rob Roque- President (Presider; no vote)
